Valerinne and Mytrip are two bands with similar music ethics, but different when it comes to style and approach to the creative process. After sharing the stage for a handful of concerts, they decided along with sound engineer Marius Costache and Black Rhino Music to create and record a track in only two days. The result of this collaboration, Kaiwa, is the reason for the Ahead Is a Barren Land EP release, both bands adding an additional song to the mix.
The split, which will be available on tape and digital download starting January 22nd via bandcamp, also features a bonus hidden track, an ambient recording by Angel Simitchiev of Mytrip, in a small forest near a monastery in Bulgaria. On the same day Valerinne will release the video for their track, The Unraveling.
A video coverage of the makings of Kaiwa was released back in June by Black Rhino Music.
You can order now a limited edition tape on bandcamp and be sure to check out future concerts of the two bands.
